John G. George, Jr.

My cases never sit on my desk without progress. I do everything I can to move them forward until we reach the right outcome, whether it’s a favorable settlement or a successful result in the courtroom. I also tailor my approach to clients’ specific needs and try to make the entire process easier for them.

John George manages a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters in Texas and across the country, ranging from complex real estate and energy litigation to general business disputes involving novel theories of contract and commercial tort law. John takes a pragmatic, cost-benefit approach to each case focused on finding the most efficient solutions to his clients’ problems.

John handles the entire range of disputes that his real estate clients may encounter, with a strong emphasis on helping Texas brokers and agents resolve claims of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, misrepresentation, DTPA violations and negligence. He also helps the firm’s real estate, banking and energy clients resolve a wide variety of contract and lease disputes involving residential and commercial properties located throughout the state.

Building strong connections to the Texas real estate community is a priority for John, and he’s dedicated to working directly on the important issues that impact his clients’ businesses the most. He’s currently serving a six-year term as an appointed member of the Texas Real Estate Broker-Lawyer Committee – an advisory body to the Texas Real Estate Commission responsible for developing standard real estate contract forms to bring consistency to transactions, increase protection for transaction principals and minimize controversies.

John also manages complex energy litigation throughout Texas and a national docket of commercial and collection cases. He helps businesses within every oil and gas sector resolve litigation involving a variety of contracts and issues, including branded marketer agreements, farm-out agreements, landowner disputes and royalty interests. Always searching for creative ways to make life easier for clients, John recently co-designed an efficient reporting system for a large energy client that streamlines its internal tracking process for cases all over the country.
