Scott Bayer

Getting to know my clients is always the first step to helping them achieve their estate planning and wealth transfer objectives. I take the time to learn about what matters most to them and assess their individual situation, goals, needs and expectations. This approach builds trust with clients and helps me design an effective estate plan to protect their families and assets.

Scott Bayer helps high-net-worth individuals and families develop trust and estate planning strategies to protect considerable assets and business interests, preserve and transfer wealth, achieve their charitable goals, and minimize estate and gift taxes. He has substantial experience preparing wealth transfer agreements tailored to each client’s unique needs and objectives, including wills, revocable trusts, generation-skipping transfer trusts and a variety of other sophisticated estate planning techniques. He is Board Certified in Estate Planning & Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Clients and their family offices count on Scott to advise on a broad range of matters, including estate planning for family members, transferring high-value special assets, structuring family business and property interests, and business succession planning to ensure the smooth transition of ownership and assets to the next generation. Scott also assists clients in many aspects of charitable planning, from structuring and counseling family foundations to preparing gift agreements with charitable organizations.

Guiding clients through the probate and estate administration process is another important feature of Scott’s practice, including drafting court filings, asset gathering and appraisal, asset distribution, and preparation of estate and gift tax returns. He also has experience advising on trust administration issues and assisting clients in trust modification and decanting proceedings.
