Barry Adkins helps private companies and their owners navigate complex business and tax challenges. His practice focuses on general business planning, tax-efficient transactions, succession planning, compensation planning and entity structuring for clients across numerous industries, with particular emphasis on healthcare, professional service firms and middle-market businesses. Barry is Board Certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a licensed CPA (retired).

Barry delivers sophisticated counsel on asset protection, succession planning, compensation strategies, entity organization and governance matters. He has extensive experience representing healthcare providers with structuring issues, joint venture arrangements, buy-in agreements for new owners, business separations, and compliance with Stark and Anti-Kickback regulations.

In his tax practice, Barry focuses on transactional planning with deep expertise in S corporation and partnership tax issues, including formations, restructurings, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, investment transactions, and entity selection. He collaborates closely with business owners and their advisors to develop tailored solutions that minimize tax burdens while achieving business objectives.

As lead counsel on numerous corporate transactions, Barry represents sellers across diverse industries including industrial services, steel fabrication, valve maintenance, oil and gas development, software services, wholesale grocery, warehouse supplies and railcar management. He has significant experience handling transactions involving private equity firms where extensive financial due diligence is required. Barry's transaction experience spans various entity structures including S corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships, providing comprehensive guidance from both seller and buyer perspectives.
