Gray Reed Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Associate Emily Shanks is recognized in the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI)’s 2024 “40 Under 40,” an annual initiative that identifies 40 top industry professionals under age 40.
As a part of Gray Reed’s restructuring team of experienced and compassionate professionals, Shanks brings her own unique skills and perspectives in safeguarding client interests, navigating the intricacies of the restructuring process and in developing personalized solutions to help clients achieve their goals. After graduating from Texas Tech University School of Law, Shanks clerked for Justice Paul Green at the Supreme Court of Texas, gaining valuable and unique insight into the behind-the-scenes of high-stakes litigation and in shaping Texas state jurisprudence. She also served as Judge Scott Everett's first term-law clerk at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.
"Emily’s recognition is a testament to her exceptional skill and dedication,” said Jason Brookner, Chair of Gray Reed’s Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Department. “She brings a fresh perspective and unwavering commitment to her clients, making her a standout in the bankruptcy field and a tremendous asset to our team."
Honorees were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse restructuring practice areas such as law, finance, consulting, academia, government and more. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges.
“We are honored to celebrate the exceptional leaders within the 2024 class as they continue to make a significant impact both in their practice and in their communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “As bankruptcy practice continues to evolve, this diverse collection of honorees will propel ABI and the insolvency community forward.”
