"Texas Super Lawyer" and Community Leader Sofia Adrogué, Member (Partner), Gray Reed and McGraw, has been selected by the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Texas as a finalist for the 2010 Blazing Star Award. The ten finalists were selected by a panel of distinguished judges based on their professional achievement, community leadership, support for the economic advancement of business and professional women, awards and honors and core professional values.
Founded in the late 1980s, the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Texas is a statewide, nonprofit, nonpartisan business organization engaged in economic development for women with strategic focus in three areas: Business and Leadership Education, Executive Networking and Advocacy on Women's Business Issues.
"My professional and community endeavors stem from a sincere desire to return the multiple opportunities afforded to me as an immigrant to the United States," says Adrogué, a U.S. Jaycees "Outstanding Young American." A bilingual native of Argentina, Adrogué emigrated with her family from Buenos Aires at the age of 9. Adrogué handles complex business litigation and consultation and multi-party proceedings throughout the United States and abroad. She also represents parties in peer review proceedings in the healthcare arena.
She graduated from Rice University and the University of Houston Law Center, both with high honors and on full academic scholarships. She is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management Program (Class Representative (President) as well as the U.S. Keynote Graduation Speaker, first woman).
