Gray Reed Adds Partner to Oil & Gas Practice

Gray Reed welcomes back Partner Philip Jordan to the firm’s Oil & Gas Practice Group in Dallas. Jordan was previously with Gray Reed before leaving to serve as Executive Vice President – Land and General Counsel for Crossing Rocks Energy II, LLC, which focuses on acquiring, developing and monetizing North American oil and gas related assets.

At Gray Reed, Jordan guides upstream and midstream clients with operations across the country through a broad range of strategic transactions involving the exploration, development, production, marketing and transportation of crude oil and natural gas. He has successfully negotiated and closed nearly every type of oil and gas deal imaginable, from complex acquisitions, divestitures and mergers to gathering agreements, farmout agreements and various other commercial and operational transactions. Jordan is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

He also leverages his previous in-house experience at Crossing Rocks Energy and as General Counsel at PetroMax Operating Co. to help clients solve everyday problems and develop long-term strategies to expand their businesses while also minimizing risk. Jordan has deep experience in the formation of numerous oil and gas entity structures and helping clients capitalize new companies and projects through both debt and equity financing. He also advises clients on a variety of operational and corporate governance matters, title questions and environmental due diligence issues.

Jordan attended Stephen F. Austin for his undergraduate education and earned his law degree, summa cum laude, from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2008.
