Gray Reed Attorney Named to American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2022 “40 Under 40”

October 20, 2022

Gray Reed Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Partner-Elect Amber Carson is recognized in the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI)’s 2022 “40 Under 40,” an annual initiative that identifies 40 top industry professionals under age 40.

At Gray Reed, Carson guides debtors, creditors, official committees and other parties through every phase of commercial bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters before courts in Texas and across the country. She has helped clients achieve positive outcomes in difficult cases spanning many industries, from oil and gas, healthcare and retail to restaurants, construction and manufacturing. Carson also handles bankruptcy-related litigation involving a number of complex issues, including fraudulent transfers, preference actions, contract disputes and many more.

“This honor is very well-deserved and I could not be happier for Amber or more proud of her,” Gray Reed Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Department Chair Jason Brookner says. "She is a rising star in the bankruptcy community and a valued and integral member of the Gray Reed team.”

Honorees were chosen from both large and small firms from every region of the country, and represent diverse practice areas such as law, finance, consulting, academia, government and more. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges.

“The 2022 honorees continually display the acumen, energy and passion in both their careers and communities to demonstrate that they are the future leaders of the insolvency profession,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “This year’s class, like those in years past, brings together a widely diverse collection of young leaders who we fully expect will propel ABI and the insolvency community forward.”
