Gray Reed is proud to announce that Trust and Estates Partner Glen Eichelberger has been awarded the Tom Garner Distinguished Service Award by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS).

This prestigious award, named in honor of Tom Garner of Port Lavaca, is presented annually to an individual who exemplifies the values of volunteer service, integrity, dedication and excellence in their work for TBLS. The award is named after Garner, who served two three-year terms on the TBLS Board and tragically passed away unexpectedly in July 2002. Garner’s commitment to TBLS was nothing short of extraordinary, and this award honors those who continue to uphold his high standards of service.

Eichelberger's tireless contributions to the TBLS reflect the best ideals of Garner’s legacy. As a volunteer, he has consistently demonstrated thoroughness, hard work and a dedication to advancing the mission of TBLS. His efforts have positively impacted countless individuals in the legal community, and it is for these reasons that TBLS is proud to recognize him with this esteemed honor.

Eichelberger serves as Gray Reed's trust and estates practice group leader. He focuses on all aspects of trust, estate and philanthropic planning and administration for individuals and families. He advises clients on the most effective ways to minimize estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer taxes, as well as the implementation and administration of complex estate planning structures, including charitable planning and counseling family foundations and other non-profit organizations on a variety of ongoing entity governance matters. Eichelberger is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a licensed CPA (retired).

The Tom Garner Distinguished Service Award was presented to Eichelberger at the TBLS Induction Ceremony on Friday, March 14, 2025, in Austin, Texas.
