Before joining Gray Reed, David worked as in-house tax counsel for a private-equity-backed insurance company advising on investment structures, international tax issues, in-house tax accounting and compliance matters, and merger issues. He helped structure investments and manage permanent establishment risk across multiple jurisdictions for a $160B insurance reserve portfolio, including several deals in the $250M to $400M range and some as large as $2B. Previously, David worked as a tax manager for a Big Four accounting firm where he led a team dedicated to advising clients on a broad range of strategic tax planning and accounting matters.
