About a month ago, my wife made me watch the movie, The Devil Wears Prada and it made me wonder how many other businesses are out there taking advantage of free labor from “interns”.  As it turns out the internet is littered with stories of companies screwing up and getting slapped on the hand by the Department of Labor, so I decided that we needed to put out a piece to shed some light on the subject.

There is a specific list of requirements that the Department of Labor has issued to provide employers with a safe harbor to avoid issues with back pay and overtime for interns.  Take a look at this month’s piece to avoid becoming a statistic.
