Gray Reed's Houston Women's Forum Co-Hosts Private Event for Abused and Neglected Youth

December 4, 2023

The Gray Reed Houston Women's Forum recently collaborated with local sneaker boutique Premium Goods to create a heartwarming event for children from the Fred and Mabel R. Parks Youth Ranch, a nonprofit that provides emergency shelter, counseling and support services to children who have faced abuse, neglect or other trauma.

The evening included fun activities like an outdoor rooftop movie screening, photobooth, airbrush booth and concessions to give the kids, ages 12-17, a carefree night of joy. Each child received sneakers and a t-shirt personalized by an airbrush artist courtesy of Premium Goods to serve as a reminder of the uplifting event.

“We were grateful for this opportunity to team up with Premium Goods and the Parks Youth Ranch for an event focused simply on creating relationships and positive memories for the children,” Gray Reed Partner Kristen Kelly, who also serves as co-chair of the firm’s Houston Women’s Forum, says. “The evening reminded us all of the power of community to lift up those among us."

The Gray Reed Women’s Forum is comprised of the firm’s female attorneys and dedicated to the empowerment and growth of women, personally and professionally. Gray Reed Partner Mary Mason serves on the Board of the Parks Youth Ranch. Premium Goods and its owner Jennifer Ford, the only black female sneaker boutique owner in the US, was the featured guest at Gray Reed’s 2023 Houston Women’s Forum Inspiring Women in Business event in October.
