Abbey earned her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she served as an associate editor of the SMU Law Review. While in law school, she worked in-house alongside corporate counsel, supporting contract review, compliance initiatives and day-to-day legal and business operations and gaining insight into how legal advice is implemented within business organizations.
She clerked for an employment and whistleblower law firm, where she worked on complex matters arising under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Dodd-Frank Act, the False Claims Act and state and federal employment laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Her work included supporting corporate executives and management personnel with internal investigations and retaliation claims, as well as assisting with employment-related disputes through litigation and negotiated settlements.
Abbey earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Arkansas and holds academic certifications in discounted cash flow analysis, financial statement modeling and market analytics. Abbey joined Gray Reed in 2025 after serving as a summer associate with the firm in 2024. During that time, she worked with the firm’s corporate, health care and real estate attorneys on matters involving contract drafting, due diligence, regulatory compliance and client counseling.
