I love that I am able to help others through my legal practice and hands-on approach to assisting clients — proactively addressing tricky family dynamics through careful asset and succession planning to provide peace of mind, handling the probate process and providing reassurance after the death of a loved one and explaining convoluted legal topics and concepts to provide firm understanding and guidance.
Crispin Clarke is an associate in Gray Reed’s Trusts & Estates Practice Group, where he counsels clients on probate and estate planning matters throughout Texas. A Houston native, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center.
While in law school, Crispin focused his studies on probate, trust and guardianship law, earning academic honors and recognition for his work in the field. He also contributed legal writing to publications associated with the State Bar of Texas and gained courtroom experience as a judicial intern with Harris County Probate Court No. 3.
Crispin remains actively involved in the legal community. He served as president of the Houston Disability and Elder Law Attorneys Association and as an officer of the Houston Attorneys in Tax and Probate organization. Presently, Crispin is a council member of the Houston Bar Association’s Probate, Trust & Estate Law Section and also volunteers as a mentor through the University of Houston Law Center’s Professional Mentoring Program.
Before joining Gray Reed, Crispin represented fiduciaries, beneficiaries and families in trust and estate-related litigation and fiduciary litigation, while also advising clients on estate and financial planning strategies and guiding executors, trustees and beneficiaries through the estate and trust administration processes. Crispin's previous experience as a litigator provides invaluable perspective for his current practice, which focuses exclusively on uncontested administrative matters and estate planning and related transactional matters.
