Matthew Sanderson of Gray Reed & McGraw Licensed as Solicitor

The law firm of Gray Reed & McGraw has announced that attorney Matthew Sanderson was licensed as a solicitor.  There are only about 60 Texas attorneys who are also licensed solicitors practicing law in Texas today.

Applicants must take a three-day Qualified Lawyers' Transfer Test (QLTT), the official bar exam for foreign attorneys, which tests familiarity with English statutes, cases, practice rules and the principles of common law, as well as the application of tax laws such as the VAT (value-added tax).  Before taking the exam, candidates must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from the Solicitors Regulation Authority and undergo an investigation of their personal history.

"Becoming a solicitor has been a longtime goal of mine," Sanderson said. "In the current global economy, serving multiple jurisdictions is increasingly important to meet the needs of our clients.  By becoming a solicitor, I hope to better serve our current clients as well as offer essential legal services to prospective clients in both countries."

Sanderson is a transactional attorney, focused on complex transactions in real estate, mergers and acquisitions of private companies, and intellectual property contracts.  His client base spans numerous industries, both domestically and internationally, and the most served industries include technology, metal recycling, restaurant, and real estate.
