Gray Reed Attorney Appointed to Houston First Corporation Board of Directors

Gray Reed Senior Counsel Sofia Adrogué was one of five people appointed to the Houston First Corporation Board of Directors in a ceremony before Houston City Council on July 26, 2017.

Houston First Corporation manages more than 10 city-owned buildings and properties and underground and surface parking.   These facilities include the Hilton Americas-Houston hotel, George R. Brown Convention Center, Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, Wortham Theater Center, Talento Bilingue de Houston, Miller Outdoor Theatre, Houston First Outdoors (which includes Jones Plaza and other smaller venues) and Theater District Parking.

Nominated by City of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Adrogué will serve on the 12-member board that’s responsible for setting policy for the corporation and approving its major initiatives and expenditures.

Adrogué handles complex commercial litigation and multi-party proceedings in state and federal courts, as well as in ADR proceedings throughout the United States and abroad. She represents clients in a wide variety of industries, ranging from entrepreneurs to multinational corporations. Adrogué has been profiled by many publications, including Texas Lawyer (one of Texas' Top "40 Under 40"), Texas Monthly and Law & Politics Magazine ("Texas Super Lawyer"), and Latino Leaders (Top Latino Partner in the U.S. and one of 25 Most Influential Hispanic Lawyers). She also serves as the Editor of Texas Business Litigation (ALM 2015, 2016, 2017).  A native of Argentina, she is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management Program, an alumna of the Harvard Business School, and received her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, magna cum laudeOrder of the Coif and Barons, and her B.A. from Rice University, magna cum laudePhi Beta Kappa, both on full academic scholarships.
