Gray Reed Provides 6,636 Meals to Houston Community

Gray Reed was proud to participate in the Houston Food Bank’s 2017 Food from the Bar program, a month-long competition among Houston’s legal community where participants earn points by donating food, fund and volunteer time to benefit the Houston Food Bank.

In one month, Gray Reed’s Houston office donated 136 pounds of food, raised $1,600 in monetary donations and 17 representatives spent time volunteering at the Houston Food Bank. In total, Gray Reed's efforts will provide 6,636 meals to hungry families in the Houston area.

Through the Food from the Bar program, the legal community helps Houston Food Bank feed more kids and families in our community. The event is timed to raise much needed resources just before the summer break when kids will be out of school and not receiving school breakfast and lunches.
