Gray Reed Sponsors Healthcare Panel Discussion

The Dallas Business Journal hosted “Meeting Tomorrow’s Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Challenges Today”, a breakfast panel discussion on Wednesday, May 25 at the Westin Galleria. Gray Reed & McGraw and Crowe Horwath sponsored the event.

DBJ writer Bill Hethcock moderated the panel of industry leaders who explored the compliance and suspect fraud challenges facing healthcare providers, best practices for keeping up with regulatory changes and regulatory updates such as the False Claims Act and the Yates Memo. Panelists included:

  • Patrick Souter
    Of Counsel at Gray Reed
  • Brian Sanderson
National Managing Principal – Healthcare Services for Crowe Horwath
  • Ron Skillens
Senior Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management and Chief Compliance Officer at JPS Health Network
  • Lisa-Beth Meletta
Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice

Significant regulatory changes occurring in the healthcare market led the panel to address the importance of well-organized, efficient compliance programs, how smaller hospital systems can effectively manage the increased scope of compliance and the role new technology will play in increasing the efficiency of healthcare.

The event drew nearly 100 healthcare and business professionals from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The Dallas Business Journal, a division of American City Business Journals, is an award-winning publication that reports breaking business news and events. Crowe Horwath LLP is one of the largest public accounting, consulting and technology firms in the United States.
