Gray Reed & McGraw Announces Executive Management Changes
Tom Rhodus Steps Aside After 26 Years of Service

Texas-based Gray Reed & McGraw today announced that, after 26 years of service and leadership, Tom Rhodus has decided it’s time for him to step aside as managing shareholder in the Dallas office and from the firm’s Executive Committee. Andrew Meyercord, who heads the healthcare section, will succeed Rhodus.

Rhodus started his 45-year legal career as a trial attorney with the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, and served as managing shareholder of Gray Reed’s Dallas office since its opening in 1990. Tom has taught courses in federal tax procedure as an adjunct professor at SMU's Dedman School of Law for over 35 years, and will remain an active member at Gray Reed continuing his practice.

“It’s been a tremendous honor to help launch and grow our firm’s office in Dallas,” Rhodus said. “I am particularly proud of the dedicated and congenial professionals we have been able to recruit to help us serve our clients.”

“It is an impossible challenge to try and replace such a universally respected attorney, trusted mentor and team leader and a truly fine human being like Tom Rhodus,” said Cary Gray, the president and managing director, “but we are fortunate to have a colleague of Andy Meyercord’s special qualities to help us do just that. It is a bittersweet time for all of us in the Gray Reed family, and yet we know the future ahead is a bright one.”

The firm also announced that Meyercord, Ruth Ann Daniels and Andy Landry will join Cary Gray, Kyle Sanders and Darrell Armer on Gray Reed’s Executive Committee.

Meyercord focuses his practice on healthcare and transactional matters. Board certified in health law, he has advised physician groups, hospitals and other healthcare providers for over 25 years.

Ruth Ann Daniels, head of the employment law section, focuses her practice on employment litigation for management. With more than 25 years of experience, Daniels is a skilled trial lawyer who has defended companies against claims, represented employers with unionized workforces in arbitration proceedings and advised employers on all manner of employment issues.

Andy Landry is a civil trial lawyer whose practice involves products liability, toxic tort, wrongful death, property damage, premise liability, employment, food contamination and complex commercial litigation. He also provides his clients with preventative litigation strategies, crisis management and public relations experience.
