Gray Reed & McGraw Strengthens Intellectual Property Practice

Gray Reed & McGraw is pleased to announce the recent expansion of its intellectual property practice. Over the past few months, Gray Reed has welcomed IP attorneys Eric Tautfest, Jared Hoggan and Jill Bindler into the firm’s Dallas office.

Eric Tautfest, a shareholder in the firm, is a skilled patent litigator and trial lawyer with extensive experience assessing the viability of patent monetization strategies and implementing aggressive patent litigation and licensing programs from inception through end-of-life. He has a long history of prosecuting and defending patent infringement claims in Federal court, and is a founding member and chief licensing officer of a large patent monetization entity. Eric earned his J.D. from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, and attended Brigham Young University for his undergraduate education.

Member Jared Hoggan focuses his practice on patent litigation. He is experienced in all aspects of patent litigation, from pre-filing investigations and patent valuations to post-trial briefings and appeals. Jared has represented clients on both sides of the aisle in patent litigation actions in Federal District Court, the United States International Trade Commission, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Prior to attending law school at the University of Texas School of Law, Jared worked in the automotive industry where he focused on the design and manufacturing of automotive glass products. After law school, Jared clerked for the Hon. Kimberly Moore of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Jill Bindler, a member at Gray Reed, focuses her practice on patent litigation and complex commercial litigation. She has experience in all aspects of patent litigation and focuses on E-Discovery. Jill is a graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law, and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas.

Gray Reed’s intellectual property practice focuses on litigation, the protection and evaluation of IP portfolios, and the freedom to operate. Its team resolves patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret and other complex IP litigation issues in trial and appellate courts throughout the country, as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the U.S. International Trade Commission.

The firm’s IP attorneys identify and strategically build their clients’ intellectual property portfolios to effectively leverage patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret related assets in the global marketplace. They are continually engaged in obtaining patents, trademark and copyright registrations, as well as structuring and negotiating IP-related licensing arrangements and the valuation of corporate IP portfolios.
