(Houston) –Gray Reed & McGraw attorneys Julia Palmer, Andy Landry, and Preston Kamin won a two-week jury trial in the 270th District Court resulting in a major verdict in their client’s favor.
The client, a major oil and gas operator, was fracing a gas well in the Haynesville shale formation when wellhead equipment rented from the defendant catastrophically failed. Afterward, as a result of a sudden uncontrolled high pressure release, the well was lost, forcing the operator to re-drill the well.
The jury found the defendant to be 100% at fault and the rented equipment to be a defective product. The jury further found no fault on behalf of Gray Reed’s client, the operator.
“We are understandably pleased with the decision,” Gray Reed attorney Julia Palmer said.
