Gray Reed Attorney Receives Presidential Appointment to Texas Board of Legal Specialization

Gray Reed Trusts & Estates Practice Group Leader Glen Eichelberger has received a presidential appointment to the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS) for a three-year term effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.

Created by the Supreme Court of Texas, TBLS administers board certification for attorneys and paralegals in specialty areas across the state. The organization is dedicated to recognizing experienced legal professionals and encouraging excellence within the practice of law.

“I am honored to receive this appointment and look forward to serving the legal profession in this capacity,” Eichelberger says. “TBLS plays an important role in promoting excellence and expertise within the practice of law across Texas, and I appreciate the opportunity to  contribute to that mission.”

Eichelberger serves as Gray Reed’s Trusts & Estates Practice Group Leader, where he focuses on all aspects of trust, estate and philanthropic planning and administration for individuals and families. He advises clients on strategies to minimize estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer taxes, as well as the implementation and administration of complex estate planning structures, including charitable planning, family foundations and nonprofit governance matters. Backed by Gray Reed’s full-service capabilities, he also counsels wealthy families and family offices on multigenerational wealth transfer, succession planning for closely held businesses and the transfer of special assets such as art, ranches and life insurance.

In addition, Eichelberger guides families and fiduciaries through every phase of probate and estate administration and has extensive experience representing trustees in trust administration and trust modification matters. Before joining Gray Reed, he served as Director of Merrill Lynch’s Family Office Services, where he worked with significantly wealthy families nationwide on estate, financial and philanthropic planning matters. Eichelberger is Board Certified in Estate Planning & Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a licensed CPA (retired).
