Gray Reed Managing Partner Kyle Sanders Named Blood Cancer United Visionary of the Year Candidate
Gray Reed is proud to announce that Managing Partner Kyle Sanders has been selected as a candidate for Blood Cancer United’s Visionary of the Year, a prestigious designation recognizing individuals who champion the mission of advancing blood cancer research and care in their communities.
The Visionary of the Year program brings together candidates across the country who form fundraising teams to compete in honor of local blood cancer survivors. The ten-week campaign runs through May 2026.
For Sanders, the nomination carries deeply personal significance. A three-time blood cancer survivor, Sanders was first diagnosed with Diffuse Histiocytic Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at the age of fourteen — just one week into his freshman year of high school. The disease returned during his senior year at the University of Notre Dame, and again in 2007.
Despite his four-decade history with the disease, Sanders has kept his battle almost entirely private — until now. His Visionary of the Year candidacy marks the first time he has spoken publicly about his journey.
“I am still here because of the sacrifice, funding and research of all of those who preceded me,” Sanders said. “The protocols that saved my life were built by organizations like Blood Cancer United and the people who supported them. It is long past time for me to say so publicly.”
Sanders has served as Gray Reed’s managing partner since June 2022. He is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized as Lawyer of the Year for Family Law in Houston by The Best Lawyers in America multiple times.
Gray Reed has rallied behind Sanders’ candidacy as a firm, reflecting its commitment to the communities in which its attorneys live and work.
“Kyle has led this firm with quiet strength and integrity for years,” Gray Reed Family Law Practice Group Leader Amy Allen says. “His willingness to share this part of his story — and to use it in service of others — is exactly who he is. We are honored to stand behind him.”
