Gray Reed Facilitates Successful Sale of Rock Run Place Assisted Living Facility on Behalf of Court-Appointed Receiver
Gray Reed is pleased to announce the successful sale of Rock Run Place Assisted Living facility located in Joliet, Illinois. The sale was facilitated on behalf of Michael F. Flanagan, court-appointed Receiver for Rock Run Place, in Fannie Mae v. Amelia Aid Propco, et al., Cause No. 1:23-cv-862 (pending in the United States District Court for the District of Washington DC), where Jason Brookner and London England of Gray Reed represent the Receiver.
Rock Run Place was jointly sold alongside a memory care facility on the same property, sold by a third-party. The sale was deemed to be in the best interest of creditors and was cooperatively facilitated with the support of Fannie Mae. Blueprint HCRE (Healthcare Real Estate) led the brokerage efforts with Amy Sitzman and Giancarlo Riso at the helm, ensuring continuity of care for Rock Run Place residents under new ownership.
“Gray Reed remains committed to delivering comprehensive legal counsel that meets the unique needs of healthcare providers and receivership situations,” Gray Reed healthcare attorney Rachel Poynter says. “Our experience and expertise in navigating complex healthcare transactions and receivership matters in state and federal court ensured a seamless process that upheld the facility's commitment to excellence in care.”
This transaction marks the 11th successful sale as legal counsel for the Receiver, led by a deal team of London England, Rachel Poynter, and Emily Bowlin, for whom Gray Reed is assisting with the sale, marketing, and legal compliance and operations for 125 assisted-living and memory-care providers. Gray Reed is proud to bring preeminent restructuring, healthcare, and real estate teams together to represent the Receiver in each of these sales.
Gray Reed attorneys involved in the matter include Jason Brookner, Darrell Armer, London England, Rachel Poynter and Emily Bowlin.
