Dallas, TX - June 6, 2024 - The Texas Blockchain Council, a nonprofit industry association working to make Texas the leading jurisdiction for bitcoin, blockchain, and digital asset innovation, has announced that Gray Reed Partner Chris Davis has joined its Board of Directors.
At Gray Reed, Davis serves as the firm's Government Investigations & Compliance Practice Group Leader. He also co-leads Gray Reed's Blockchain and Digital Assets practice, guiding cryptocurrency and blockchain businesses through regulatory compliance, tax and transactional matters, internal investigations, and government enforcement actions.
"Chris is a proven leader in the digital assets space with invaluable experience as both a regulator and private practitioner," Texas Blockchain Council President Lee Bratcher says. "His expertise in securities law, government investigations and crypto compliance will be instrumental as our Council works to promote an optimal legal and regulatory environment for this rapidly evolving industry."
As a former Senior Trial Counsel at the SEC's Fort Worth Regional Office, Davis led crypto-related securities fraud cases and investigations into digital asset offerings and schemes. He now leverages this background to counsel Fintech companies and investors on compliance programs, regulatory disclosure requirements and navigating government enforcement actions.
"I'm honored to join the Texas Blockchain Council and support its mission to drive innovation and responsible growth in the blockchain and digital assets ecosystem," Davis says. "By harnessing Texas' business-friendly and pro-innovation policies, world-class talent, and cutting-edge academic programs, the Council can position our state as the global leader for this transformative technology."
