Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Partner Amber Carson Elected to ABI’s Board of Directors

The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) recently announced that Gray Reed Partner Amber Carson has been elected to the organization's Board of Directors. This prestigious position places her among the 60 directors chosen from ABI’s more than 10,000 members.

ABI is the largest multi-disciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. ABI was founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues. The ABI membership includes attorneys, accountants, bankers, judges, professors, lenders, turnaround specialists and other bankruptcy professionals, providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information.

In addition to serving her first term on the board, Carson has served as a member of ABI's Diversity Working Group, chairing the Training, Accessibility and Gender-Terminology Subcommittee and playing an active role in the Pipeline Programs Subcommittee. She was previously elected to leadership of the Young & New Members Committee, and she also participates in the Business Reorganization and Emerging Industries and Technology Committee. In 2022, Carson was named to ABI's 40 Under 40 because of her outstanding record of professional achievement and community leadership.

At Gray Reed, Carson guides debtors, creditors, official committees and other parties through every phase of commercial bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters before courts in Texas and across the country. She has helped clients achieve positive outcomes in difficult cases spanning many industries, from oil and gas, healthcare and retail to restaurants, construction and manufacturing. Amber also handles bankruptcy-related litigation involving a number of complex issues, including fraudulent transfers, preference actions, contract disputes and many more.
