Gray Reed Honored at LMA Southwest Region’s 2021 Your Honors Awards

The Legal Marketing Association (LMA) – Southwest Region recognized Gray Reed twice at its 2021 Your Honors Awards, an annual program that recognizes creativity, execution, achievement and overall excellence in legal marketing, business development and communications. The firm’s Chief Marketing Officer Michael Blachly received the Distinguished Service Award and the firm received Honorable Mention in the Communications: Brand Enhancement category.

Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award is given to an individual member who has been in the legal marketing profession for over 10 years and has made significant contributions to the legal marketing industry, LMA, the Southwest Region and its members, and has consistently demonstrated the highest levels of leadership, innovation and mentorship.

“Michael was instrumental in establishing a solid foundation for the Southwest Region, one that has been built upon in the four years that have followed,” the award presenter said.

Blachly has been a member of LMA for 13 years and has held various roles such as regional president, secretary, Dallas city group chair, 2030 Strategic Planning Task Force member and a mentor to a number of other legal marketing professionals.

“It is an honor to be considered and recognized in this way,” Blachly said. “The legal industry and the legal marketing profession have given me a great opportunity to share my passion and to strive to innovate in new and creative ways.”

Communications: Brand Enhancement

In connection to a new logo launch in August 2021, Gray Reed’s marketing team was looking for a fun and creative way to unveil the new logo. Blachly and Madison Longust, Marketing & Communications Manager, with the assistance of GCC Portfolio, created a video to unveil the updates internally and externally via social media. The video received an Honorable Mention in the Communications: Brand Enhancement category, which recognizes logos and any kind of design or key messaging related to the enhancement of a firm’s brand identity.

“This video is an example of a simple, engaging way to help communicate a small (but significant) change to a firm’s brand and create content for social media that is beyond the usual law firm content,” Longust says.
