Gray Reed Attorney Greg Sampson Honored by Dallas Business Journal

Gray Reed Trusts & Estates attorney Greg Sampson was honored with the Dallas Business Journal's Outstanding Directors Award for his leadership and volunteer work with the Dallas and Northeast Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

This award recognizes excellence in governance in North Texas, from individuals to boards, highlighting those that are integral to the success, growth and development of their organizations. This year’s list of peer-nominated honorees features a mix of prominent public, private and nonprofit companies and leaders from Dallas-Fort Worth. It represents sectors that had important roles in 2020 during the pandemic including: health care, nonprofits, foundations, chambers of commerce and energy.

Sampson's involvement with the Alzheimer's Association began about six ago. Since then he's held various leadership roles including his current position as Chair of the Board of Directors.

"It's an honor to receive this award, and I accept it as a recognition of the extraordinary achievements of the many, many dedicated volunteers, staff and board of the Dallas and Northeast Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association," Sampson says. "Currently, more than 400,000 people in Texas are living with Alzheimer's disease, and more than 1 million family members and friends are providing care. The impact of this disease and other dementias on our communities, given our aging demographics, is one of the fastest growing health concerns. The Alzheimer’s Association is working toward a world without Alzheimer’s by funding an army of experts researching new treatments, preventions, and ultimately, a cure. In the meantime, communities like ours benefit from a critical network of people providing education and support for those affected and their caregivers."

Sampson, and the other recipients, were honored at a virtual award ceremony on April 27 and will be highlighted in a special digital and print Dallas Business Journal publication on April 30.
