Two Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Partners Recognized by Lawdragon

Gray Reed is proud to announce that Jason Brookner and Paul Moak have been named in Lawdragon's inaugural 500 Leading U.S. Bankruptcy & Restructuring Lawyers, a listing of distinguished lawyers whose practice focuses on financial restructuring and bankruptcy law.

According to Lawdragon, the attorneys recognized "bring remarkable skills in financing, structuring, litigating and creating a pathway forward."

Chair of Gray Reed's Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Department, Brookner focuses his practice on advising debtors, buyers, creditors, trustees, committees, lenders and other constituents in all aspects of distressed, insolvency and restructuring scenarios. Known for his practical and diligent approach to solving challenging problems, he has obtained successful outcomes in complex cases in many industries, ranging from oil and gas, manufacturing, distribution and healthcare to poultry and meat processing, metals trading and restaurants (including fast casual and quick-service). In addition to Lawdragon, Brookner has been annually recognized as one of the leading bankruptcy/restructuring lawyers in Texas by Chambers & Partners USA since 2005 and was also recently recognized for his important role in the Life Partners Holdings, Inc. case, which was named the 2017 "Turnaround of the Year" in the large company category by the Turnaround Management Association.

Moak represents debtors, secured lenders, creditor committees and equity committees in bankruptcy matters.  In addition to handling core bankruptcy matters, he handles a wide variety of post-confirmation litigation matters on behalf of reorganized debtors and litigation trustees, including claims to recover fraudulent conveyances and preferential transfers, claims against officers and directors for breach of fiduciary duties, claims involving auditor liability, and claims for recharacterization and equitable subordination.  Moak’s practice also includes representing companies and individuals in defense of bankruptcy-litigation claims. He has handled bankruptcy cases and related litigation across several industries, including oil and gas, healthcare, mortgage lending and servicing, commercial real estate, aviation, chemical manufacturing and many more. In addition to Lawdragon, Moak is also recognized as one of the leading bankruptcy/restructuring lawyers in Texas by Chambers & Partners USA and was listed among Lawdragon's 500 Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyers in 2019.
