Gray Reed & McGraw's Jack Emmott Elected Council Member for the State Bar of Texas Collaborative Law Section

Gray Reed & McGraw family law attorney Jack Emmott was recently elected to serve as a Council Member for the State Bar of Texas Collaborative Law Section. Emmott was elected at the Annual Convention of the State Bar of Texas.

Board certified in Family Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Emmott focuses his practice on the collaborative family law process, family law litigation and mediation. He believes litigation should be treated as a last resort and is a pioneer in Texas collaborative law. Jack sees the collaborative law process as a client-centered approach that provides privacy, “therapeutic justice” and a means for resolving differences without involving a judge or jury.

The Collaborative Law Section of the State Bar of Texas was created in 2010. It comprises of attorneys who seek to educate legal and client communities about collaborative law, improve and enhance the practice of collaborative law, identify practitioners of collaborative law for public benefit, and provide a forum for interaction among practitioners from all disciplines of the law.
