Gray Reed Member Mary S. Axelrad Selected by the Supreme Court of Texas to Three-Year Term on Professional Ethics Committee for the State Bar

HOUSTON -- The Supreme Court of Texas this week selected Mary S. Axelrad, a Gray Reed & McGraw member in the firm’s Houston office, to serve a three-year term on the Professional Ethics Committee for the State Bar of Texas.

The nine Supreme Court Justices finalized Axelrad’s appointment on September 30th. It became effective October 1st, and lasts until September 30, 2017.

The Professional Ethics Committee for the State Bar of Texas issues written ethics opinions and is chaired by Mark N. Osborn of El Paso.

“Ethical conduct is foundational in all walks of life but especially in the legal profession,” Axelrad said. “I am deeply honored by this appointment and look forward to serving the State Bar and my fellow Texans.”

Axelrad is a leading member of Gray Reed & McGraw’s Banking Section and regularly represents commercial lenders in complex transactions including asset-based, real estate-secured and lines of credit.  She also has an active real estate practice.
